Kris's friend Aaron is now living in Idaho. Before he left he took 2 PSP's from our house, neither of them Kris's. Kiddo is pretty depressed and angry right now. I'm working with Aaron's parents to get them back. I am so frustrated with this whole mess, we really all liked this kid and I'm so pissed he did this, I'm also wondering what else is missing. I found out today that 2 DVD sets he loaned Jim were stolen from the library, not bought as he claimed so I'm returning them tomorrow. Other then that things are fine.

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when?" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

NAME: Kelly, Gawd, Mom.

AGE: 38

LOCATION: Tacoma, WA

OCCUPATION: Keeper of my parents.

PARTNER: Hubby is Jim, partner in crime, well there are several, Stephie, Tonya and Mary to name a few.

KIDS: One, he just turned 18.

BROTHERS/SISTERS: No sisters, 3 half brothers, 1 full brother and 2 foster.

PARENTS: Both alive and still married.

PETS: Bob the cat, he's going on 12. We have wildlife we feed and water in the yard but they're not pets.

LIST THE 3-5 BIGGEST THINGS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE:

1) Family ~ I live with my parents and taking care of them can be a full time job. Mom is pretty good most days, Dad, well he's another story, it's kind of like having a 3 year old in the house that you can't discipline. My son, is an endless joy/pain in my ass as any teenager can be. My hubby is my wonderful.

2) Health ~ It's been a rough few years but I'm hoping for an upswing, I'm working on getting strength back and losing weight along with motivating my family to do so. It's an uphill battle but I've never been one to back down from a challenge. I just have to stay positive.

3) Garden/yard ~ It's never ending and I really do enjoy the work, even when it frustrates the hell out of me.

My time as a hermit may soon be at an end ie. The evil never ending semi-contagious infection from hell is nearly over. I take my last antibiotics the day before Thanksgiving and by Black Friday I will be fine. Black Friday is the annual Thanksgiving dinner at Stephies, we're providing turkey, ham, rolls and pie, feel free to stop by with a side dish. The party is also bring your own bottle.

Tonight we're enjoying our last home grown tomato of the season for winter I have some greens attempting to grow, so far so good.

I've planted 60 assorted bulbs and have about 100 to go.

Kris turns 18 on Saturday, I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around this.

The sauerkraut is cured and I'm canning it tonight, we have 18 jars.

Not much going on, I have an infection that won't go away, the sauerkraut is nearly fermented and will be canned some time this week. I planted greens for winter, I need to winterize the rest of the garden spaces and plant some bulbs. We picked all of our apples and I'm working at freezing them. Halloween was awesome, we had quite a few people at soup and cards. I spent a lot of the night playing rock band, it was a lot of fun and I hope Evan brings it again.

Jim didn't make Maltoberfest. He stayed home with the teenagers and waited for me. I got to have a fun filled trip to the ER. I enjoyed a high fever and boil lancing. The doctor's swear my infection is on the mend and this is a good sign but I'm not sure I believe them, boils hurt like the dickens.

Kris and his friend Aaron picked all of the apples over the weekend, they're earning Norwescon money. Next they have to put the growing boxes away. The garden is pretty much done for the season, the mystery squash plant is some kind of hard squash, I'm hoping I can get one mature one off the vine so I can figure out what I grew. I have some hardy greens and turnips planted for the winter we'll see how that goes.

I made 18 quarts of sauerkraut and they're fermenting for a few weeks, then we'll see if it worked. Hopefully this doesn't turn out slimy like last time. The rest of this week will be devoted to locating a rim for Big Red and peeling and freezing mounds of apples and possibly making pear butter from the Asian pears Charles gave us.

Woops it's been a bit since I posted, bad me. My garden is doing well, I think my mystery 'bean' plants are a crook neck yellow squash and a zucchini respectively and they are huge, I hope I can get some veggies off them before they die. I have tomoto's coming out my ears, my cucumbers developed some disease and I had to pull them all.

Dad went into the hospital for 4 days with yet another infection. He's home now and doing better, his breathing still sucks but the doc says it's improving.

I had 3 biopsy's last/this week and am playing the waiting game, which I hate, I'm trying not to think to hard.

Kris is making an attempt at school, so far so good. He won 2nd place in a plant arrangement at the Puyallup Fair, it was a project for his plant biology class.

I think that's about it. Soup and Cards is happening September 26th then again on Halloween. Hope all is well.

Camping went well. I really enjoyed the time away. Jim and I discovered a nice bakery in Castle Rock, the mocha cannoli rocked and the town was really cute, unfortunately I left the camera in camp for that excursion.
It rained most of Saturday so we hung around camp, played with the kids in my tent, played cards and read.

I'm not sure we'll make it out again this year, but Stephie and I are already planning a couple trips next year.
It's been a bit of the week from hell between tooth pain, minor knee surgery and Stephies stuff, I'm glad it's mostly over. My knee is healing well, I think the tooth needs to be pulled and we found and installed a fridge for Stephie. This weekend is puttering about the house, neither of the parents feel well so I'm sticking close to home and cleaning. We're also digging out camp gear for next weekend. We're heading to Seaquest State Park, near Castle Rock, WA on Silver Lake. I think half of our party has backed out but I'm still excited and looking forward to this, I haven't been regular camping (non SCA) since I was a teenager.

This has been a rough week. Between heat, getting into the storage unit, (thanks again BJ)Josh disappearing on Tuesday (yes he reappeared, no I haven't killed him), my storage unit getting broke into, Jim's glasses breaking, having this gaping hole in my side and Hank dying, I think I'm ready to hide in my room.

Ok, explanations for the small rant. I couldn't find keys to my storage unit, my keys were in my purse when I got mugged and we couldn't find the other one. On Monday, I purchased bolt cutters, BJ broke the lock and we were in. I found kitchen things for him and took out my grandma's bookshelf her china and the end tables. I was going to leave the china but BJ got stubborn and put it in the truck (and I'm so glad now he did.)

Tuesday, I'm in Stephies bathroom, sick as hell from the antibiotics, when I come out, about half hour later, Josh is gone, I search the house, screaming his name. I head outside, check all around the house, down the alley and around the block, plus all the neighbor's yards and knock on doors. I go back in and check the basement and call Stephie, she's not answering her phone. I go back out circle the house again and head inside to call the police, and he appears. He claimed he was in the bushes, which I checked 3 times. We come to my house so I can email Stephie and to check on my Dad. While here I get a call from my storage saying it's been broken into and that I need to get down there right away, Kris, Josh and I pile in the truck, get there and no one is at the office we wait 10 minutes and still no one and I can't get in my unit, it's got a strange lock on it, I go back home and call them, they were dealing with another unit. Turns out, 43 units were broke into and a car was taken. They got some big stuff, broke other stuff, and in general made a big mess, it's insured and most of what was taken was stuff I bought so it's not particularly sentimental.

Jim's frames broke last night, they're insured I just need to get them in.

I have a hole in my side from my picc line getting caught in the door, I ripped out stitches and pulled the line part way out. The wound abscessed and I could put my thumb in it, all the way to my hand (gross huh?), I can't have a shower, it's one hell of an infection, but it's finally going away, slowly.

Last but not least, RIP Hank Q.

I hope everyone is having a better week then me. On the plus side, tomorrow is my last day with Josh for 17 days, woohoo.

Holy crap, the tomato plants grew over a foot in the last 3 days.

It turned out to be a very good visit with my brother and his kids. They're really good people. Doug plans on bringing the younger boy back next summer for a longer visit. Dad hasn't been this happy in a long while and it's nice to see.

Jim made the garage door over the weekend, it turned out awesome.

The guys put the a/c in my bedroom last week, I am so thankful for it.

Reminder, soup and cards is this Saturday.

Yard work, yard work and more yard work. I've survived another week with Josh. I get the picc line out in a week. (fingers crossed) Tomorrow I get to have a breakfast with hubby and Stephie at Red Wind, then we're hitting garage sales with a couple more friends. This will be followed by digging out and separating iris and other yard work followed by building a door to the garage and putting on trim and housework. My half brother Doug and his kids will be in Monday or Tuesday, should be interesting.

You're probably all sick of gardening posts but what can I say, I lead a boring life. I harvested funky and semi normal lettuce and it was fantastic. The funky mix had about 4 greens I'd heard of and 6 or so that I had to look up. Taste of them ranged from wow that's interesting to cucumber to peppery. The whole family liked them, even my Dad. Next year I need to devote a bigger space to lettuce. I think the artichoke is finally trying to grow, it only took 6 weeks to come out of shock. Potatoes look very healthy and I can feel lumps in the dirt when I dug around. My herb garden has exploded, currently I'm cutting and drying at least once a week and I think the dill grows at least an inch a day. I'm debating on making and freezing pesto, I think I'm the only one that enjoy's it. I have cucumbers about the size of small safety pins, tomatoes forming fruits and bean flowers. The onions are surviving and most of the other plants are doing what they're supposed to. I only had 2 pea vines come up so no fresh peas this year and I have to replant two boxes with beans. Other then that things are well. Morning glory and sweet pea's along with regular weeds invade everything, I don't think I'll every get them gone. Next week I start removing iris from beside the porch, we're going to put down black plastic and white rocks to keep the vegetation away from the house. I'm going to put it behind the raised beds too and hopefully get rid of the maple tree that's trying to grow between them. Today Jim is sinking a post for a hose reel that Dad wants out front. I think it's going to be right in the way but what do I know, after all, I'm the one that does the watering in the first place.

I'm on the second week of intravenous antibiotics and I'm darned sick of them. Yesterday I got a new picc line and more stitches, hopefully I can keep it out of the car door, I do have some interesting bruises from that incident.

Kris is with a friend swimming and fishing at a lake, he may come home today but he isn't sure yet. He's been being a teenager, which mostly means I don't want to kill him.

The parents are hanging in there. Dad has his gun back and is happy the barrel wasn't pitted. I'm hoping I don't have to drive out to Graham again anytime soon.

I found out today that getting your picc line caught in the door of a truck thanks to a 6 year old that isn't listening hurts like hell. I've survived the first week with Josh and other then today this one hasn't been too bad.

I got the guys out helping this morning and would have accomplished more had Dad not come out to help too. It's very frustrating to be in the middle of a project and have to stop to do something for him then try and go back to what you were doing only to have him want something more, and keep repeating the process. We moved 2 blueberry bushes and took up some brick work. The guys also got the last 3 growing boxes out for me so I can plant them now. I pulled more morning glory and weeded the cabbage. Tonight I need to plant the 3 patio planters with flowers and plant the new clematis on the trellis near the fountain, it's Dad's Father's Day gift. I also finally remembered to pick up basil plants and we got a couple heirloom sweet peppers and an heirloom tomato that Jim picked out. Slowly the yard comes along.

Kris is spending the night with his friend Aaron tonight. He gets to meet Aaron's sisters, they're 7 and 12 and just got back from Arizona. I think Kris has a new Xbox 360 game so he's very happy to have someone besides me to play it with, as I suck.

I got to see Charlie Bear and family briefly last week. I cannot believe how fast he's grown in just a couple weeks. I also saw Matt and Stepho, they are such amazing people, I need to spend more time with them.

I'm hopeful that some of the crap and drama that has been invading my life lately is over, finally. I should know for sure next week.

Wild Turkey American Honey, yum

My brother leaves tomorrow. It's been a good visit for the most part and he's talking about moving back within 6 months, I'm trying not to think on that too much.

Junefaire was nice. We needed more space, but we were with in reasonable distance from the fair activities and biffs. I really missed camping with Jimmer, Zac and Erin oh BJ too but we made due. BJ didn't get as drunk as expected or at least not that I saw, Heather made up for him 10 fold. I got to visit with Rick for the first time in over 10 years and meet his new lady Amber, she's very nice, I look forward to seeing them again soon. Bless Stephie for keeping me mostly out of the kitchen, I'd get up and make coffee and cocoa and she'd smell the coffee and chase me away from the stove. Matt, Ari and Kris's friend Aaron are now converts, even Kris is asking about fighter practice. If the family is going I think we're changing August plans so we can camp with them. At some point in the next month or so, Steph, Liz and I are having a tunic sewing party. Kris met up with the merchant he helped out last Autumn War and collected his leather. He also bought tools to make pouches and is very excited. Should I worry that my son is getting into leather?

My best friend's wedding is off, so I can quit worrying about speeches and bachelor parties. I'm a bit alarmed that the self centered, untrustworthy girl he loved seems to be after another really good friend, there's not much I can do with that situation, I've said what I felt needed to be said to him and he's made up his mind. I'm worried that I may loose some people I love in this mess (and may have already,) I guess that's just how life goes. I'm trying very hard not to burn bridges but it's becoming more difficult and I'm not sure at this point if some of it is worth maintaining.

Other then that life goes on as usual. The guys game, Kris is nearly done with school for the year, I'm gardening, Dad is driving me up the wall. Oh we have a baby possum out in our lilac tree, I'm not sure where his mama is but he's drinking water and eating cat food.

I've been getting ready for Junefaire and taking care of Dad, he's sick and lost his voice, now if he'd quit talking... He finally went to the doc this morning, we've been trying to get him to go for 4 days. I wish I had an extra week before camping,

I feel like I have a million things to do still. Thank goodness Jim is home tomorrow to help out.

Ari is leaving early morning of the 10th to head back to San Diego. He's looking forward to school.

I still have things to plant but that's next weeks project. I hope everyone is enjoying the weather or at least has found air conditioning.
